You can prepare for your first visit to Orion Dental with the following: 

• Arrange for transfer of previous dental records if possible.
• Please confirm your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
• The first appointment may be up to 90 minutes depending on certain conditions.
• Plan to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment to complete administrative tasks.
• Brush and floss your teeth before arrival.
• Bring any oral appliances you have.
• Please bring a list of current medications including vitamins and supplements.
• Be prepared to communicate your chief  dental concerns and questions, write them down in advance, we find that to be helpful sometimes.
  

You will receive a through clinical examination that includes:

• A review of your concerns
• A review your medical and dental history 
• Your desire and direction for dental treatment 
• Diagnostic imaging 
• Comprehensive dental exam including head and neck exam, oral cancer screening, sleep apnea screening, TMJ evaluation, periodontal evaluation, tooth by tooth diagnosis 
• Together we decide on a plan of action to address your dental care going forward 
• Depending on certain conditions, you may not receive a cleaning at the first visit as we concentrate on details of your current oral condition, which may take as long as 90 minutes.
